For tax law specialists: How to use Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs)

While many tax law specialists use Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs) on a daily basis, they know very little about Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs) despite the fact that these instruments are closely related.
A good understanding of both DTAs and BITs is particularly important when advising clients who make cross-border investments and seek optimal protection of their investments.

The aim of the course:
This online course consists of 2 webinars of 2 hours each. The course aims to explain what BITs are and how to use them.
After completion of the course, you will have a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the main elements of BITs and how to use them in practice when advising clients. Throughout the course actual case studies will be used to explain the benefits of BITs in connection with optimal tax planning and the DTAs.

All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a NL-IC Academy certificate.

The course is particularly suitable for:

  • Tax law specialists
  • Private Equity firms
